Letter from the Alumni Association Presidents

Nov 09 2017

Dear Fellow Columbia Engineers,

We are honored to be addressing you as the newest leaders of Columbia Engineering’s Alumni Association and Young Alumni Board. With the fall semester well underway, our attention has turned from Reunion weekend to the regular programs, events, and traditions of the academic year—from the “Ties and Scarves” event for seniors, to Homecoming at Baker Field, to the annual Giving Day competition. These fixtures of fall programming serve to reinforce our connection to each other and to the School.

And what an exciting era we are witnessing at Columbia Engineering! In the Spring 2017 issue of Columbia Engineering, Dean Mary C. Boyce unveiled her bold, all-encompassing vision for our School, set fort in the “Columbia Engineering for Humanity” campaign. The scope of Dean Boyce’s vision touches all facets of life at Columbia Engineering, and we encourage you to keep an eye out for programs, profiles, and other content spotlighting the many ways our School’s engineering disciplines affect the human condition around the world. We are steadfast in the conviction that our School is better positioned than it has ever been in our 153-year history and Columbia Engineering’s upward trajectory is made possible by the continued engagement we have seen from our alumni community.

As alumni, our foremost responsibility is to support Dean Boyce and her leadership in any way we can. To that end, the Columbia Engineering Alumni Association, Columbia Engineering Young Alumni, and the Columbia Alumni Association all offer volunteer opportunities to stay involved and connected throughout the year. You can keep up to date on events and happenings by following CEAA and CEYA via Facebook at www.facebook.com/myceaa and www.facebook.com/myceya. We hope to see many of you at alumni programs in the future!
