Yiannis Monovoukas

Yiannis Monovoukas is the former Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of TEI Biosciences Inc., a privately held regenerative medicine company that develops and commercializes novel biologic products for a broad spectrum of soft tissue repair, reinforcement, and reconstruction applications. Yiannis joined TEI Biosciences in 2001 when the company was primarily focused on research and development. Under his leadership, TEI grew significantly by obtaining FDA clearance for several groundbreaking products, attracting world-class partners, creating a large US direct sales force, launching its products internationally, and achieving unparalleled profitability. Monovoukas is presently focused on biomedical venture investing after two completed exits.

Monovoukas earned his BS in chemical engineering from Columbia University. He also holds an MS and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Yiannis is the winner of the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2011 Life Sciences Award for New England, and was a 2011 Life Sciences US Finalist.
